Representative Steinburg Spends the Day at TES

visit from nc legislator

On April 8, 2016, Representative Bob Steinburg spent the day at Tyrrell Elementary School today to experience a “day in the life” in our public schools. He visited six different classrooms, had lunch, reviewed benchmark data and saw intervention activities. Mr. Steinburg expressed an interest in seeing firsthand all aspects of a school, including the important roles that teacher assistants play in the education of our students, before he goes back to Raleigh for the short session. When superintendents and board members met with Mr. Steinburg recently he was very attentive to issues of teacher pay, school calendar flexibility, and student growth playing a larger role in school grading.
