Thanks to a North Carolina Arts Council Grassroots Arts grant Tyrrell County Schools is pleased to welcome Andes Manta back to our schools for a three-day arts residency. This group of 4 brothers from Ecuador "performs the vibrant music of the Andes on more than 35 traditional instruments" and promotes the rich cultural heritage of South America. There will be performances in the auditorium for all students and hands-on workshops for students in high school Spanish classes and in 6th grade Social Studies classes.

The video below is of the kick-off performance for Columbia High School students and staff. The group is in the district through Friday. There are 2 more performances scheduled for Friday morning.
