VIDANT Chowan Hospital Partnership

Vidant Chowan Hospital is partnering with Tyrrell County Schools and Columbia High School (CHS) to provide certified athletic training services to student athletes.

Vidant Chowan Hospital is the official healthcare sponsor of the Wildcats athletics’ program and is helping to provide athletic training in an effort to promote fitness, increase performance and coach students about injury prevention. Certified athletic training services will be offered to students at CHS.

Vidant Chowan Hospital President Jeff Dial stated, “Keeping our students healthy and injury free is a top priority and it aids us in delivering on the Vidant Health mission to enhance the quality of life for the people and communities we serve, touch and support.”

The program will cover all Columbia High School sporting events including football, baseball, softball, cheerleading, and boys’ and girls’ basketball.

Dr. Bryan Bunn, primary care provider with Vidant Family and Sports Medicine-Edenton will continue to be the Wildcats physician and is looking forward to working with Morgan and assisting student athletes both on and off the field throughout the school year.

Profile of Dr. Bryan Bunn

Dr. Bryan Bunn with Vidant Family and Sports Medicine-Edenton is now the official healthcare provider of the Edenton Aces and offers expertise in sports medicine. Dr. Bunn graduated from medical school at The Brody School of Medicine at East Carolina University. He then completed residency training at North Colorado Family Medicine Residency, Greeley, Colorado, followed by a fellowship at Cabarrus Sports Medicine, Concord, North Carolina. In addition to sports medicine, his areas of interest include preventive medicine, pediatrics and geriatrics.
