Tyrrell County Schools Celebrates Academic Growth and Success

Highlights of TCS Achievements:

Statewide Context

The success of Tyrrell County Schools reflects broader improvements across North Carolina. According to the state's 2023-24 Accountability Report:

  • North Carolina students showed gains in most grades and subjects
  • 72.5% of schools statewide met or exceeded growth expectations
  • Math performance increased in grades 3-8 and in NC Math 1
  • The state's four-year cohort graduation rate rose to 86.9%

Celebrating Success

To commemorate these achievements, Tyrrell County Schools will host its annual "Blue Party" celebration. This year's event will focus on honoring Columbia Middle School and Columbia Early College High School. The celebration is scheduled for Friday, September 20, 2024, and will feature food, music, and opportunities for students, families, and community members to connect and celebrate together.
