Ron'Dayle Floyd is a football coach, a life coach, a motivator, and a teacher. Each of these characteristics are interchangable regardless of the role he is occupying at that moment. From a student athlete learning the game of football playing for the Washington PamPack under coach Sport Sawyer, to the sidelines where he gained experience to lead his own teams, Coach Floyd is now well-known throughtout eastern NC.
Learning from local legends like Robert Cody, Asim McGill, Herbie Rogers, and KJ Hunt, Coach Floyd absorbed all that he could about the game. He walked the sidelines as an assistant coach in Washington and Martin Counties, building bonds with players and having an impact on their lives as young men. He then took over a receeding program at Riverside Middle School. Needless to say, with Coach Floyd's leadership, he built that program into five-time conference champions. Five times, five years consecutively.
The passion and the effort transfers from Floyd to his players. Coach studies, reads, views hours of film, has strategy sessions with others in the coaching ranks, all to the benefit of the players. He has a plan, a vision, to grow the Wildcat program and build champions on and off the field. Please welcome, Coach Ron"Dayle Floyd as the Varsity Head Football Coach of the Columbia Wildcats!
Coach Floyd will be at the Athletics Meeting tomorrow, Wednesday, June, 10th at 6pm at the CECHS Cafeteria for a Meet & Greet for parents and players. Please come out and meet the new football coach along with some great information that will be presented.
Coach Floyd will also serve as the Career Development Coordinator for Columbia Middle School. He has previously served in this CTE (Career & Technical Education) role where he challenges students to identify their interests and career goals. With a Masters in Business from Mount Olive University, Coach Floyd will assist students to identify their pathway and mentor them as they complete their own career development plans.
Residing in Dardens, NC, Coach Floyd brings with him to TCS his faith, his family, his philosophy, and his love for the game of football.
