Highlights from the September 2024 Board of Education Meeting

New Staff Introductions

The board welcomed eight new employees to the district:
  • Dr. Patsy Barrett joins as a part-time School Psychologist
  • Christy Kristenberry takes on the role of CTE Program Innovation Coordinator, supporting Tyrrell, Hyde, and Washington County school districts
  • Sandie Kirkman is teaching 2nd grade at Tyrrell Elementary School (TES)
  • Brenton Lago joins as an EC Teacher at Columbia Early College High School (CECHS)
  • Erica Lewis teaches 1st grade at TES
  • Lahoma Mayo steps into the position of Assistant Finance Officer
  • Rianne Woodley joins as a School Nutrition Assistant at TES
  • Aaliyah Blount, a senior from Elizabeth City State University, begins her internship with the district

Looking Ahead

The Human Resources department announced that more new staff members will be introduced at the next board meeting.
