2023-2024 Superintendent’s Message

Dr. Karen Roseboro, Superintendent

Dear Parents and Families of Tyrrell County Schools,

I want to extend a warm welcome to the 2023-2024 academic year! As your superintendent, I am honored to lead this community committed to excellence in education. I am grateful for your presence and support and consider you part of the TCS family.

Our collective commitment to student success is crucial as we embark on this academic year. The new theme of "TCS Rising Up to Student Excellence" emphasizes our determination to overcome challenges and work together to ensure the best outcomes for every student.

Our school district has many accomplishments to celebrate, such as the remarkable success of our students and staff inside and outside the classroom. Last year, many of our students and professionals excelled at the state level, participated in various STEM and CTE programs, and met academic expectations. We expect nothing less this year, and our district strategic plan will guide our work toward continuous improvement.

To access information about your child's attendance and grades, you can just sign up for the parent portal, which you will receive information about at the open houses. We are dedicated to improving communication between home and school, and every week starting from the first week in September, each district school will send important information home for families to review on Thursdays. If you have a 9th-grade student, please attend the orientation to receive up-to-date information about graduation requirements and college and career pathways to help your child stay on track and succeed. Please visit our district and school websites regularly, as we will update them with relevant and timely information.

Finally, I thank you for your continued support in providing a safe, positive, and challenging learning environment that prepares our students for college, career, military, and life goals to fulfill their maximum potential.

Sincerely,

Dr. Karen Roseboro

Superintendent
