Update on TES Open House

Due to the predicted impact and timing of Hurricane Erin, the Tyrrell County Schools Leadership Team has rescheduled the Tyrrell Elementary School Open House.

📅 New Date: Friday, August 22, 2025
⏰ Time: 4:30 p.m. – 6:30 p.m.

We apologize for the late notice, but the safety of our students, staff, and families is our top priority as we monitor the storm’s potential wind and rain.

We look forward to welcoming our families and community partners on Friday evening. Please help us spread the word!

BOE Meeting Notification

The Tyrrell County Schools Board of Education has scheduled work
session on Wednesday, August 20, 2025.

The work session will take place at the Tyrrell County Schools Central
Office, located at 1107 Hwy 64 East, Columbia, NC 27925.

La Junta de Educación de las Escuelas del Condado de Tyrrell ha
programado una sesión de trabajo para el miércoles 20 de agosto de
2025.

La sesión de trabajo se llevará a cabo en la Oficina Central de las
Escuelas del Condado de Tyrrell, ubicada en 1107 Hwy 64 East,
Columbia, NC 27925.

BOE Meeting Notification

The Tyrrell County Schools Board of Education will meet in a Special
Called Meeting on Thursday, August 14, 2025, at 5:00 PM. Closed
session is included on the agenda Closed session pursuant to General
Statute 143-318.11(a)(1) and (a)(6) to prevent the disclosure of
confidential personnel files under G.S. 115C-321 and to consider matters
relating to initial employment of an individual employee. The meeting
will be held at the Tyrrell County Schools Central Office, located at
1107 Hwy 64 East, Columbia, NC 27925.

BOE Meeting Notification

The Tyrrell County Schools Board of Education will meet on Tuesday, August 5, 2025, at 4:45 PM in Closed Session, pursuant to G.S. 143-318.11(a)(1) to consider confidential student information protected under G.S.115C-402 and the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act, 20 U.S.C. 1232g. The Board will reconvene for its regular monthly meeting (Open Session) at 5:30 PM.

The meeting will be held at the Tyrrell County Schools Central Office, located at 1107 Hwy 64 East, Columbia, NC 27925.

An additional Closed Session, pursuant to G.S. 115C-319, will be held immediately following the Open Session to discuss personnel matters.

NOTICE: JULY 3 HOLIDAY – NO SUMMER PROGRAMS

Tyrrell County Schools will be closed on Thursday, July 3, 2025 in observance of Independence Day. There will be no summer programming on Thursday, July 3. This applies to both Reading Camp and the CATS program. 🗓️ Please note that this day will not be made up. Reading Camp will still end as scheduled on Thursday, July 17. CATS will now end on Wednesday, July 2. Thank you and have a safe holiday!
